ALTANA AG acquires stake in technology startup SARALON GmbH

The specialty chemicals group ALTANA (Wesel, Germany) has acquired a stake in the tech startup SARALON (Chemnitz, Germany). The young company specialises in the development of inks for printing electronics. In addition, it offers prefabricated electronic components that enable printers to quickly build capacities for printing electronics. The parties have agreed not to disclose the investment sum.

Canatu and ESA sign contract for the development of a fully carbon nanotube based optical filter for x-ray astronomy

Meyer Burger establishes new partnerships for the development of high-performance solar modules with perovskite technology

For the development of next-generation, high-performance solar cells and modules, Meyer Burger Technology AG (Thun, Switzerland) has brought renowned partners on board and signed corresponding multi-year cooperation agreements. Together with CSEM from Switzerland, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, and the Institute of Photovoltaics at the University of Stuttgart, the company is working on the industrialisation of perovskite tandem technology, which is expected to allow the industrial production of solar cells with efficiencies in excess of 30 percent in the future.

LG Display’s automotive solutions receive SGS eco-product certification

LG Display (Seoul, Korea), a globally leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that its automotive displays are certified as eco-friendly. LG Display’s automotive P-OLED and Premium LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) LCD displays have received the Eco-Product Certification Mark from SGS, a Swiss-based global leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification, for the first time in the industry. The certification mark is given to products that adhere to global environmental regulations and minimise hazardous substances all the way from production to disposal.
