"This award recognises suppliers who have distinguished themselves through reliability, quality and delivery reliability," says Roland Schreiner, Managing Director of Schreiner Group. This year, the coveted award went to Gallus, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.

Fraunhofer FEP: Condition monitoring of ornamental plants with microdisplays and neural networks to optimise fertilisation

Conservation of resources and reliable yields are just as essential in plant cultivation as in other branches of agriculture. In order to optimise fertilisation processes in ornamental plant cultivation in the future and thus protect the environment, researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Dresden, Germany) together with the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) have been researching a technology for the early detection of nutrient deficiencies or surpluses in ornamental plants in the ZierSens project (financed by funds from the Free State of Saxony). The use of bidirectional OLED microdisplays in combination with neural networks should make it possible to optimize fertilisation processes in the future.

OE-A Business Climate Survey – Mixed feelings despite positive expectations

“The forecast for the Printed Electronics Industry remains positive and stable. We are slightly less optimistic than in the spring survey in March of this year, with an expected sales increase of 16 percent for 2023. Nevertheless, a promising 18 percent increase is projected for 2024,” says Dr Klaus Hecker, OE-A Managing Director, about the results of the latest business climate survey.
