OLED materials innovator CYNORA secures US$25M, names new CEO

Marking the initial closing of its Series C funding round, CYNORA (Bruchsal, Germany) announced that it has secured US$25M in financing from investors in Asia, Europe and the US. The company is an emerging materials leader with a novel technology to produce ultra-high-efficiency emitter systems required for next-generation Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) displays. The company has raised US$80M since its inception in 2008. Final closing of the C round with an additional investment is expected shortly.

OE-A elects new international board of directors

The members of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) appointed Stan Farnsworth, NovaCentrix, as the new chairman of the board of directors, during the annual general assembly in Munich, Germany. Dr Xioalin Yan, Guangdong JUHUA Printing, is confirmed as vice chairman for Asia. Dr Alain Schumacher, IEE, and Richard Ellinger, American Semiconductor, are elected in their positions as Vice Chairman Europe and North America respectively.

Majewski has extensive experience in the electronics and technology industries in Canada, having overseen the generation of hundreds of millions of dollars at STMicroelectronics while running its East Central U.S. and Canada regions.

Heliatek appoints new CEO

With effect from 1 November 2018, Guido van Tartwijk has become the new CEO of Heliatek GmbH (Dresden, Germany), a leading organic photovoltaic (OPV) innovator. He succeeds Thibaud Le Séguillon, who left Heliatek in July 2018. Together with CFO Jan Kiel, who has been with Heliatek since July, he forms the new dual management team of the company.
