TNO at Holst Centre, The Netherlands, and Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung (ZSW), Germany, will collaborate on the development of next-generation Li-ion batteries for the European car industry. In the collaboration Holst Centre’s expertise in Thin Film Technology processes and equipment will be combined with ZSW’s know-how of battery materials and integration. Each institution will involve its local partners from the battery (manufacturing) value chain and the automotive industry. The Dutch province of Noord-Brabant and the German state of Baden-Württemberg are providing funding of around €3.4M for this cross-border research.
Authorities in the Republic of Kosovo rolled out the so-called 3rd License Plate in spring of 2022. The process of switching to digital vehicle identification and registration has been completed and the RFID label from Schreiner PrinTrust (Oberschleißheim, Germany) is increasingly being used. LOPEC 2023 hosted more exhibitors than ever before: 168 exhibitors from 25 countries and more than 2300 visitors from 43 countries attended the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München from 28 February to 2 March. Here, the industry’s leading exhibition and most important conference highlighted the entire spectrum of flexible, organic and printed electronics, and showed the potential that lies in this key technology. The share of international participants was about 60 percent.
