SmartKem (Manchester, UK), a leading developer of organic semiconductors for the manufacture of low power, robust and lightweight electronic displays, has appointed Billy McLaughlin as its new chief operating officer. McLaughlin’s appointment is a major coup for SmartKem having spent more than two decades in senior roles with some of the semiconductor industry’s giants, including Motorola and GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

(Fukuoka, Japan), a leader in next generation organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology, and WiseChip (Miaoli, Taiwan), a leading manufacturer of organic light emitting diode (OLED) products, recently announced that the two companies plan to release a commercial product utilizing 4th generation Hyperfluorescence OLED light emission technology. This will be the first commercial product using this new generation of organic compounds in a commercial display product.
