LOPEC 2021: Flexible and printed electronics continues its course for success

From 23 to 25 March, LOPEC was held as an online event. In 180 contributions, the speakers of the digital Conference and more than 70 companies at the online exhibition presented groundbreaking developments in printed electronics. Numerous user industries, such as the automotive, textile and entertainment sectors, are drawing on the potential of this technology. In the medical and pharmaceuticals sectors, in particular, a tremendous surge in development became evident.

New board of directors announced by the OE-A

The members of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) confirmed Stan Farnsworth, NovaCentrix, as the chair of the board of directors for the term 2021 to 2025. Dr Xiaolin Yan, Guangdong JUHUA Printing and Dr Alain Schumacher, IEE, are confirmed as vice-chair Asia and vice-chair Europe, respectively. Dr Chloé Bois, ICI, is elected as vice-chair North America.

LOPEC 2021: Experiencing printed electronics up close

Lightweight, thin, flexible and stretchable: These properties make organic and printed electronics the ideal choice for medical monitoring systems that fit closely on the skin like a band-aid. In these times of the pandemic, such new developments are particularly in demand. At the LOPEC Conference which will take place online from 23 to 25 March 2021, Prof John A. Rogers from the U.S. Northwestern University will provide information about the technology. In an interview, he outlined the specific advantages of printed electronics and presented innovations from his laboratory.
