With effect from 1 November 2018, Guido van Tartwijk has become the new CEO of Heliatek GmbH (Dresden, Germany), a leading organic photovoltaic (OPV) innovator. He succeeds Thibaud Le Séguillon, who left Heliatek in July 2018. Together with CFO Jan Kiel, who has been with Heliatek since July, he forms the new dual management team of the company.
Approximately 185m² of Heliatek's (Dresden, Germany) organic photovoltaic films were installed on the façade of a warehouse of Duisburger Hafen AG in August. It is a sub-project within the cooperation agreement „Drehkreuz Energiewende“, which was established between Duisburger Hafen AG and the energy company innogy in 2016. The trial installation has 192 three metre-long HeliaSol film panels, making it the largest facade installation to date with organic photovoltaics (OPV).
During the last two years, as part of the EU-funded PVme project, an international consortium of 10 companies and research centres worked together to find solutions for a sustainable building façade. PVme stands for "organic PhotoVoltaic systems integrated in Manufactured building Elements". Almost at the end of the project, the inauguration of the organic-based BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) façade took place recently at the Engie Fabricom building in Zwijndrecht, close to Antwerp, Belgium.
