PragmatIC appoints new chair of the board to support increasing scale of business

PragmatIC (Cambridge, UK), a leader in flexible electronics, has appointed Erik Langaker as independent chair to complement its existing board of directors. This appointment comes alongside additional funding of over £13M to support ongoing production ramp-up, accelerate manufacturing optimisation and drive continued product innovation.

New managing director at Coatema

Dr Markus Deimel has been appointed as further managing director at Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH (Dormagen, Germany) on 1 August 2020 and will be responsible for the management of the company together with Dr Tarik Vardag, managing director of the ATH Group. Although Dr Andreas Giessmann and Detlev Dieke will leave the company as managing directors end of the year as planned, they will continue to work as consultants in the ATH group thereafter.

Imec and Ghent University present smart contact lens

Imec, a leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies and CMST (an imec-affiliated research group at Ghent University), together with their partners at the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Fundación Jiménez Díaz (Madrid, Spain) and Holst Centre (an open innovation initiative from imec and TNO, The Netherlands), recently presented an artificial iris embedded in a smart contact lens.
