IDTechEx announces programme for its Santa Clara event

On 14 and 15 November, the annual Printed Electronics USA event will take place in Santa Clara, California – the heart of Silicon Valley. The event is expected to exceed 3500 attendees. The success of the event is down to the strong focus on the commercialisation of printed electronics. Attendees can meet OEMs and end users across many industry verticals including automotive, consumer electronics, wearable technology, IoT and military to learn of their needs and progress and create partnerships. It is considered to be a must-attend event on the topic, based on its size, gathering of users and the case studies and innovations that will be unveiled. Below are a few examples of the speakers at the event.

Printed Electronics in Automotive

Today printed electronics is widely used as heaters and seat occupancy sensors in cars. As cars and other vehicles move towards being increasingly electrified and improving passenger comfort, the use of printed electronics is increasing. Organisations such as Denso, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, Porsche and Continental will present on their increasing use of printed electronics, from transparent antennas to improved user interfaces based on structural electronics to heat management.

Printed Electronics in Industrial and Healthcare

Multibillion dollar companies including KONE, United Technologies Research, Siemens, Boston Scientific, GE and many others will cover their activities with printed electronics, from improving medical devices to creating better experiences for users to predictive monitoring of condition.

New Products coming to Market

Printed Electronics USA 2018 also covers the progress of new, disruptive technologies coming to market. Late last year JOLED brought to market the world’s first printed OLED display and the company is featured as one of the keynote presentations. Another is PolyPhotonix, bringing to market a diabetic eye treatment whereby an OLED lighting eye mask can control the onset of blindness, disrupting a billion dollar market for medicines that are injected into the eye.
