Heraeus Conductive Polymers has recently introduced new Clevios HIL-E grades, which are a combination of hole injection layer and a high conductive electrode and specifically designed for the OLED lighting industry.

Along with the production advantages Clevios HIL-E offers according to Heraeus, the company promises additional technical benefits like excellent planarisation properties and a refractive index that matches glass and plastic substrates. The formulations are also pH neutral. Regular and high work function grades are available.

The products can be formulated for slot-die coating, ink-jet printing and other deposition methods.

Heraeus supplies a range of Clevios conductive polymer materials and formulations along with silver pastes for OLEDs. A combination of these technologies is said to be a key to the advancement of OLED devices.

Dr. Armin Sautter, manager of the New Technologies Business Unit states: “The introduction of the HIL-E grades is a significant milestone, reducing the manufacturing costs of OLED lamps and enabling them to successfully enter the mass lighting market.”
