The Dutch, Belgian and German R&D partnership Solliance announces the demonstration of an industrially-applicable roll-to-roll process for the production of solar cells, achieving a record 12,6% conversion efficiency on cell level. This breakthrough result paves the way towards an accelerated market introduction of this attractive new source of renewable energy.
UK-based RK PrintCoat Instruments is now collaborating with the National Centre of Flexible Electronics (FlexE Centre) at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur (IITK) to design, manufacture and supply a bespoke roll-to-roll pilot line for their latest R&D and prototyping projects in the field of printed and flexible electronics.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP, which is based in Dresden, Germany, and the machinery company VON ARDENNE, also based in Dresden, will intensify their cooperation in the field of the coating of flexible glass. Due to its properties, this new material is ideally suited as a substrate for various applications in flexible electronics. Since October 2016, the two partners have been operating the roll-to-roll coating system FOSA LabX 330 Glass together.
